Chris Louray is breaking into the hip-hop from various angles & is swiftly becoming one of the most sought after talents in the Bay Area of California. Chris, known professionally as Centric, has launched his own independent label called Free At Last Music Group & wears many hats including producer (credits include Sean Price, Rapper Big Pooh, Black Rob, Kool G Rap, Wordsmith, etc), engineer, and, yes, even emcee. Within the past year, Centric has garnered the attention of a plethora of international DJs, blogs, & the like with the success of several singles he produced for other members of the Free At Last Music family as well as two highly rated singles from the emcee/producer duo Grand Opus he created with fellow Cali emcee Joc Scholar (“Forever” & “The Key“).
Music fans familiar with producer Oh No will recall ‘Skits & Pieces‘ (My Man Recordings 2005), a classic underground album that showcased the lyrical onslaught of a then relatively unknown emcee, known as Infamous MC. ‘Skits & Pieces‘ was distributed worldwide, and created a buzz that allowed the emcee to tour & perform with the likes of Dilated Peoples, Planet Asia, Del The Funky Homosapien, & Little Brother. He also appeared on “The World Famous Wake Up Show” with Sway (MTV) & Tech on several occasions and is known as the first artist to freestyle answers to Sway & Tech’s questions live on air. Now after a small hiatus, the Oakland, California lyricist has returned with a new moniker (C Keys), album (‘Mr. Grey Goose‘ & ‘Cuban Cigars‘), & movement (Sophisticated Hood). Time has passed, but only the name & maturity level have changed.
Together, Centric & C Keys have formed a dynamic hip-hop duo called Black Dynamite and “McFilthy” is their first video/single release, directed by Funky Monkey Bananas.
