Justin Long and Kate Bosworth board survival thriller, “Coyote”, with production underway in Colombia.
Justin Long (“Barbarian“) and Kate Bosworth (“Superman Returns”, “21”, “Remember The Titans”) will star in the survival thriller “Coyote”, it was announced today by Capstone Studios’ CEO Christian Mercuri.
Colin Minihan (“What Keeps You Alive”, “Grave Encounters”) will direct from a story by Daniel Meersand and Nick Simon (“The Pyramid”, “The Girl In The Photographs”) and Tad Daggerhart (“The Expendables 4“, “Black Lotus”), with the script by Daggerhart and Simon.
Nathan Klingher (“Land Of Bad“) and Ford Corbett will produce for Gramercy Park, along with James Harris (“Fall”) of Teashop Productions and Jib Polhemus (“Old Guy”) of Source Management.
Capstone’s Roman Viaris and Ruzanna Kegeyan are executive producers alongside Jason Carpenter, Adam Mirels, Robbie Mirels, Tyler Gould, Michael Sklut, Nick Simon, Tad Daggerhart, Jijo Reed, Justin Long, and Kate Bosworth.
Capstone Studios and Magnetic Labs are financing the feature while Capstone Global is handling worldwide rights.
Production began November 11 in Bogota, Colombia.
“Coyote” is a survival thriller which follows a family fighting for their lives against a pack of crazed coyotes during a raging wildfire in the Hollywood Hills.

Justin Long starred in the wildly successful 20th Century Studios, “Barbarian”, alongside Bill Skarsgård and Georgina Campbell and is coming off his lead role on the Disney+/Hulu anthology series “Goosebumps”.
He recently starred in the indie horror feature “Night Patrol” opposite Jermaine Fowler for Phantom Four and XYZ films and the crime thriller “Stranglehold” opposite Jake Lacey.
Long also directed one of the segments for the latest installment of the “V/H/S” franchise “V/H/S/Beyond”.
Kate Bosworth is well known for her starring roles in Warner Bros.’ “Superman Returns”, and DreamWorks Pictures’ “Win a Date with Tad Hamilton”.
Her other feature credits include Columbia Pictures’ crime drama “21”, Universal’s surf drama “Blue Crush” and Buena Vista’s dramas “Remember The Titans” (starring Denzel Washington) and “The Horse Whisperer” (directed by Robert Redford).
Bosworth is also known to television viewers for her role in National Geographic’s miniseries “The Long Road Home”.
Colin Minihan wrote, directed and edited the SXSW breakout thriller “What Keeps You Alive” which was a New York Times Critics’ pick and hit the top 10 on Netflix US charts.
The multi-talented Minihan is also known for co-creating the popular “Grave Encounters” franchise released by Tribeca Film.
Minihan co-wrote and directed “It Stains the Sands Red”, winner of the Midnight Extreme Award at The Sitges International Film Festival.
His other feature credits include co-writing and directing “Extraterrestrial”.
Under his production banner Digital Interference, Minihan also wrote and produced the popular horror thrillers “Still/Born”, “Z”, and “Spiral“.
