California woman Kathleen ‘Mom Influencer Karen’ Sorensen has been awarded Donkey Of The Day.

The first Donkey Of The Day of the week is a perfect example of when being desperate for social media content goes wrong.

Case in point, a California woman named Kathleen Sorensen–aka Mom Influencer Karen–reported a false crime to the cops back in 2020.

The false as well as racially motivated crime to be exact was Sorensen accusing a married Hispanic couple of trying to kidnap her kids at a local Michael’s craft store.

After making the false police report, Sorensen published the fabricated story in video form on her Instagram page under the false pretense that she wanted to “raise awareness as to what signs to look for, and to just encourage parents to be more aware of their surroundings and what is going on around them” which resulted in her grabbing all kinds of eventually unwanted headlines.

Sorensen has since been arrested, charged with, and convicted of making a false report of a crime.

Sorensen, still in custody, faces up to six months in Sonoma County Jail.
