Some time around 2001, a rapper (formerly signed to Interscope Records) by the name of Jensen Karp (of The Hype Men) got a hold of 2 beat CDs with Kanye West’s name on them. Eventually, these 2 beat CDs (titled ‘Kanye Beats‘) would make their rounds on the Internet catching 1 ear at a time.
